Selling at the counter (checkout)
This page walks through the sales flow on the Sales screen, after you've opened a shift.
1. Add products to the cart
- Type a name, SKU, or scan a barcode in the product search box, or click a product directly in the list.
- The product is added to the Cart on the right. Use the + / - buttons to change the quantity (Qty), or the × button to remove a line from the cart.
- The Subtotal column updates automatically based on price and quantity.
2. Pick a customer (optional)
- The default is Walk-in customer.
- Click the customer field to search an existing customer, or click New customer to create one on the spot (Name, Phone number, Customer group) without leaving the sales screen.
- Make sure to pick the right customer if the shop uses group-specific price lists.
3. Apply a discount (optional)
Choose a discount type: Amount ($) or Percent (%), then enter the value. Subtotal, Tax and Total (plus the Total (Riel) conversion) recalculate automatically.
4. Payment
- In the Payment section, click Pay full amount to auto-fill the remaining balance, or Add payment to enter it manually — split payments across multiple methods are supported (e.g. part cash, part KHQR).
- For each payment line, choose:
- Method: Cash / KHQR / Card.
- Currency: USD or Riel (KHR).
- Amount the customer is paying.
- If the customer overpays in cash, the system automatically calculates the change (change only applies to cash payments) — you can edit the amount if needed.
- If total payments are less than the order total, you'll see "Total payments are less than the order total." and won't be able to complete the sale.
5. Complete the sale
Click Complete sale. The system creates the order, deducts the corresponding stock, and shows the Receipt dialog — click Print to print a receipt for the customer, or Close to keep selling.
The new order appears in the Today's sales table below the sales screen.
